Science Bug is sequenced to teach skills, knowledge and understanding in a coherently planned and sequenced way to build knowledge and skills cumulatively over time.
Working Scientifically skills are woven into the knowledge and understanding teaching within the sequences of learning. There is a great emphasis on science vocabulary and technical words, learning through practical activities and ensuring children have numerous opportunities to learn outside in order to build the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed now and in the future.
Lessons are structured to assess previous learning and understanding, identify misconceptions and respond and adapt teaching to ensure that children of all abilities access an age appropriate learning experience.
Senior leaders ensure that teachers have the required knowledge to ensure that learners develop detailed knowledge and skills in science in order to achieve well.
